Hi, I have an office laptop which is a T410, the product # is TYPE 2522-AT3 S/N R8-1YLC2 10/08. I want to connect this laptop to my U2711 Dell monitor. But it cannot handle the resolution. Plus I want to get another U2711 and use two monitors. So I am planning to add a eGPU. I have assembled desktops before, so I think I should be able to do this, however, I want to check with the experts in this forum before I spend my $$$.

    1. I think my laptop has Express 34 slot, how can I verify without taking it apart?
    2. I am planning to get the PE4L: PE4L V2.1 ( PCIe Adapter ), is this compatible with my laptop?
    3. This is the graphics card I am planning to get: ECS Black Series NBGTX560-1GPI-F GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Newegg.com and PSU: CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Newegg.com, any thoughts on these two?

Are there detailed instructions I can follow anywhere so that I can avoid frying my eGPU setup?

    Experts please advice.

    Thanks

I have to ask, do you plan to use an eGPU for the added performance as well? Else a simple docking station (for example the Mini Dock Plus) seems like a better choice. Contact Lenovo and ask them that they have to offer.
