    Hey everyone,
I wanted to know if I could go ahead and order all those parts.
First of all here is my config :
    Lenovo x220
    Intel i7-2620m
    8gb 1866mhz
and the rest is probably irrelevant but in case it changes anything i am using an m-sata intel ssd + a normal full size hard drive

now, i would like to buy those parts to make my eGPU
first of all the PE4L 2.1b
    PE4L ( PCIe Adapter ver2.1 )

for the GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 448 Cores FTW
Newegg.ca - EVGA 012-P3-2066-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 448 Cores FTW 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

    for the power supply :

EDIT : this one has wa better review for not too much more
    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152019

    old option :
Newegg.ca - Diablotek DA Series PSDA250 250W ATX Power Supply
I'm tempted in getting this thing because its really cheap. To be honest I only took the cheapest option they had. Maybe I should invest in something better. If someone think so, maybe you could check this list

Newegg.ca - Power Supply, Computer Power Supply, Uninterruptible Power Supply, DC Power Supply, PC Power Supply, ATX Power Supply
and tell me what should do the job?

now, other than those 3 things, is there anything else I would need to order to make this thing work? Is there any cable I need to order or what ever accessories that i forgot? Or maybe the parts I selected don't work together? Also, its important to mention that i know nothing about soldering or how electronics hardware works in general, so I am really aiming for an easy installation with out the need for any special tools.

    Thanks everyone!

This is what I was writing about earlier : don't buy cheap noname PSUs. Things WILL go wrong and you'll have a bad egpu experience. If you're on a constrained budget, you'd better go for a "normal" 560 Ti (not 448) and get a real PSU. This setup will run much smoother than a top notch card with a bad PSU.

I'm not a PSU specialist, but if I were you, I would probably go for one of these :

    Newegg.ca - CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 V2 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

    Newegg.ca - SILVERSTONE ST50F-ES 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

    Thank you again Jemino!
what do you think about this psu
    Newegg.ca - Rosewill RV350 350W ATX 1.3 Power Supply
its quite cheap and its the best rated sub 50$ PSU on newegg canada. 5/5 average with over 343 reviews. Also, its 350W, which seems enough for only 1 GPU. What do you think about it?

Now last 2 questions. First, is it worth it to wait for the PE4H 2.1b whatever thing version or is it better to just get the PE4L 2.1b now? And finally,
    between this
    ExpressCard External Graphics x1
    and this
    PE4L ( PCIe Adapter ver2.1 )

any big difference? one is cheaper than the other. I live in canada, so if I pay a couple dollars more but save a week in shipping time then I think it's worth it. Which company should I go with?

    Thank you again!

I already told you what I think about cheap PSUs, and this one is no different. The 12V line is too weak to power a 560 Ti 448. I've found this one that should be fine (and it will be my last word on this subject : don't be cheap and try to save a few $$ on a 350+ setup) :

    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371023

the performance of the new PE4H will be the sameas PE4L 2.1b. I don't see any reason to wait for PE4H.

Same gear. HIT is in the US, BPlus in China, so you should consider customs taxes.

Once again thanks a lot Jemino. also thanks __-_-_-__ (lol) for the tip. I just ordered the PE4L and now im looking at the used market for a GPU and a PSU. I famous canadian retailler is selling a used MSI GeForce GTX 570 for 170$ shipped. (anyone has any idea why a used GTX570 is selling for less than a GTX560ti 448 on the same website?) also, their used cards only come with a 15 day warranty.

I also found someone in my city selling those PSU
    Rocketfish™ - 500-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply - RF-500WPS2
    for 35$.
You think it is worth taking the risk? thanks again!

You're the best. thanks again for your input.
I'm actually hesitating between getting this rocketfish 500watt + a used MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin FrozR II (170$) for a total of 205$ all in.
Or, getting everything new from ncix (they have a promo right now) and getting a new and under warranty GTX 570 + a OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w for a total of 305$ after mail in rebate.

NCIX have those 2 GPU in sales for the same price :
    Galaxy MDT GeForce GTX 570 800MHZ 1280MB 3.8GHZ DDR5 3XDVI-D 1XDVI-I 1x Mini-HDMI PCI-E Video Card - Galaxy Technology - 57NKH3DH5PXK
    and
    MSI GeForce GTX 570 Twinfrozr II 732MHZ 1280MB 3.8GHZ GDDR5 2xDVI Minihdmi PCI-E Video Card - MSI/MicroStar - N570GTX Twin Frozr II

I really cant find much online. Almost all websites stopped selling the MSI gtx570 twin frozr II (and are selling the version III instead for much more). I also couldnt find any english review about the version II. The Galaxy one seems weird also. Cant find a lot of review. From what I understood this card is usually expensive because it can run 4 screen (which I won't do).

so used gtx560ti + unknown PSU for 205
or new less known gtx570 + i think better PSU for 305$.

Can't decide for you here. Both setups will allow you to play Diablo 3 just fine. The 570 will be a bit more future proof (but is it worth 100$ ? You'll have to answer that...).

Thanks Jemino. Just a small update. I just bought a EVGA GTX 560ti 448 (used) for 185$ and the rocketfish 550watt for 35$. Now I'm waiting to receive my PE4L 2.1b.

    Thanks again for everything.
