Hello, I'm new on the forum and I'd like to try and setup an egpu for my Asus N56VM. I read the tutorials here on the forum but since I'm not very expert on the hardware topic, I'd like some help from you guys, who are definitely more skilled than me.

First of all, my laptop specs are, as given by Speccy:

    Operating System
    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    CPU
    Intel Core i7 3610QM @ 2.30GHz
    Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
    RAM
    8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
    Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. N56VM (SOCKET 0)
    Graphics
    Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 4000 (ASUStek Computer Inc)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M (ASUStek Computer Inc)
    Versione ForceWare: 368.81
    SLI Disabled
    Storage
    465GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB (SSD)
    931GB Seagate ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB (SATA)
    Optical Drives
    No optical disk drives detected
    Audio
    Realtek High Definition Audio

    So here's my questions.
    1) Is my laptop egpu capable?
    2) If so, I intend to use a "MSI GTX 950 Gaming 2G" as egpu. What kind of performance can I expect? Is this going to be worth it? Can I get, say, 50%-75% of its normal desktop performance?
    3) What kind of mPCIe adapter should I use? I'm willing to pay a little bit more to get some quality material
    4) How much power should my PSU provide?
    5) Do I need some extra software to set everything up?

If you need more info on my laptop, feel free to ask.

    Thanks for your help guys
