Reading the comments on NVIDIA's Tweets leaves me little hope for humanity. People are like, "I was saving up for a 1080 but now I'm getting a Titan X."

    Here we go again!

never felt the need to own a Titan, but i probably would sell my Strix 1080 for a watercooled 1080 Ti.

Some idiot is probably going to buy the old Titan X thinking he bought the new Titan X for a bargain price. :D

And once he/she will figure that out, he/she will have to buy a second Titan X, this time the new one.
Oh nVidia, what a genius marketing that is!

Good thing is, I think in 60+ years my old 7600 will once again be awesome!

I wonder if people will abuse this on eBay, trying to sell the old Titan X as the new Titan X.

    At least they look different...

Whenever your question is "I wonder if people will <insert action that makes money>", the answer is usually yes. :p

I don't know why they didn't call it the titan xp/titan 10 or just something different. But then it doesn't matter those card and there drivers are not great for gaming. Would be more interested in a 1080ti / its next gen equivalent or if AMD came out with something nice & high end.

Titan cards are gaming cards...... Just really expensive ones people get for bragging rights.

& are generally out preformed buy there ti counterparts at a lot less money, so I don't consider them to be cards aimed at gamers, if someone is will to buy a titan for gaming there money would be better spent on a XX80ti or XX80/ti sli

This used to be the case but both the Maxwell and Pascal Titan X cards had their computing capabilities taken away. They're gaming cards. The extra VRAM on the Titan X does come into play in some games that go over 6GB on Maxwell so I'd imagine it would be the same scenario with Pascal. Besides who knows if the Pascal Titan X ends up being a decent overclocker. We already know the X is the full GP102 die and that the Ti will be cut down, it all depends on the stability of the full die in an OC scenario.

forgot they took that away, true & will it being a full chip so I'd expect it to run hotter, not that the pascal cards are hot as it is, but we will wait for the reviews. The titans do have a history of the ti cards outperforming the titans thou or preforming as well as

The Titan X also comes out first. Your paying more for it first. We'll see how long it is this time around, but it was a decent amount of time between the Titan X and 980 Ti.

Yeah for the most part your totally right. I just mean, if your a die hard enthusiast, I can understand you buying them in the beginning. Once the 1080 Ti comes out it doesn't even make sense even if you are rich to buy them as the 1080 Ti aftermarket versions will outperform it anyway.

based on the quote below would insinuate the price came down after the ti release

this is what I've been saying constantly that you should not have any real interested in this card other then to find out how the 1080ti will preform and so as it will preform the same expet in the 1% of games that will use the extra vram the card makes no sense

    It's powerful, yes.
Powerful enough to justify the price? Not for me.

I'll be gaming at 1080p for quite a while, so 1070 here I come!
