Vince aka KINGPIN has been king in the overclocking scene for many years! So it should be no surprise that he would produce the most insane video cards every created!

How ironic I just finished watching that. :) Yea the KP is definitely not for regular gamers. It is true at ambient temps and even on cool air it'll produce results very similar to regular FTW3 cards.

There are a few ways to look at owning this card IMO.

    1. If one can afford it and want to buy it for its intended purpose (benching), then by all means...it's the best card available and exactly what it was designed for.

    2. If one can afford it and just want it as a collectors piece...can't fault that either. (Impractical, but it's no different than people buying classic cars and keeping it garaged most of the year except for car shows...) To each his own eh?

    3. If one can afford it and wants to have that extra ability to OC for their game / productivity etc... but the FTW3 for ~$$600+ cheaper can achieve just that so I don't really see any benefit to this unless the person just wants it just to have it...

I fall into category #1 and will be diving pretty heavy into benching my KP's here soon...

Unless it is decently chilled, or more importantly potted, it is a waste of $500+ dollars you can get from a FTW3 and if you're joe schmoe gamer looking a mild OC, it is a $1000 wasted as even an average run of the mill 2080ti is going to rock your socks for gaming as is. But I agree with the above points especially #2. If you've got the disposable income, have at it. :)

Luckily, I get to follow the threads here and see those with deeper pockets put the KP, FTW3 and even lesser models through their paces while I just dropped $6k to repair our roof which *POOF* ed my fun toys account. :(

EVGA Kingpin RTX 2080 Ti Review: $1900 Video Card Analysis
    Gamers Nexus
    Published on May 20, 2019
Reviewing the KINGPIN 2080 Ti is a tough job, but we've looked at it for "regular" use, water-cooled overclocking, liquid nitrogen overclocking, and more.
Article is pending publication -- sorry for the delay! We're flying right now.
Find Buildzoid's KINGPIN 2080 Ti PCB analysis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3qYE...
And our 2080 Ti liquid nitrogen OC stream recap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33AwP...
The EVGA RTX 2080 Ti KINGPIN is among the highest-end cards built for the big GPU Turing die, and at $1900, it's also among the most expensive. This review of the EVGA Kingpin 2080 Ti looks at overclocking with the stock (liquid) cooler, extreme overclocking with liquid nitrogen, power consumption, thermal performance, and overall value and quality of the card. If you're looking for the "best" RTX 2080 Ti, well, clearly that search ends at something like the Lightning, the HOF, or the KINGPIN, but these cards aren't meant for just any user.

To add, most gamers that play certain games already overly max out the games potential anyway with a powerful card like a 2080Ti, therefore the truth of the matter is that most gamers can get by just fine with way less (graphics card) and save a lot more money while they are at it.

Ex. Overwatch...On max Epic Settings the FPS maxes out at 300, and the 2080Ti smashes it with way more potential/power left over... so in this case, what a waste to have a 2080Ti in the sense of thinking that it will somehow make the gaming experience any better.

The smart gamer on an average budget would opt for a 1080Ti or even a 1080 with an 8700K for example and save a ton of money while being able to enjoy their game just as much as if they had something like a 9900K w/ 2080Ti etc... (Depends on the game of course... but for most gamers they really don't need much.)

As the saying goes "It's the driver not the car," -- In the context that for those that think they have to have the best to play... super wrong... lol

Give a PRO Gamer the crappiest set up vs a Really Good Gamer with the top of the line setup and the Pro Gamer will SMASH the Really Good Gamer in his sleep.

As for your repairs draining the fun bank it's all good, because at the end of the day that is actually important, whereas gaming can wait with a very low priority. :p I understand though...

I hope that you can save up the loose change again to replenish the fun money and that we can keep you entertained with our posts.
