Hi, i'm trying to make a gaming build and I need to find a decent cooler. Now, i've been stuck on the question air vs water. I know water cools better especially when it comes to overclocked cpu, but a coolers (which can still keep up nicely) are much quieter. So here are the contenders:
the cryorig r1 ultimate, noctua nh-14 (good performance, but man, that color scheme.... what were they thinking? i'm personally not a fan), corsair h100i gtx, nzxt kraken x61, cooler master nepton 240.
    1. My case is either a corsair 400c or a phanteck pro m acrylic. so the air cooler needs to fit...
    2. for air coolers, i will be adding another fan making it 3 fans (i mean, that'll fit in my case right....
3 This is for college, so i don't really want to bother my roommate too much with the constant fan noise. So how loud is 60db... i don't know, but it seems loud and may bother my roommate... which is a no.

So yeah, any suggestions to which one to get would be great. I am a bit ify on getting the noctua since my cases have a side window, and I'm not too sure how that brown color scheme would look after staring at it for some time. haha. Thanks

Edit, after a really pointless excel points chart, I've come down to two coolers, the r1 ultimate or the nepton 240m. So, yeah, which one? The nepton cools better, but the r1 is quieter and it's beautiful.

I have an H100i in push configuration on my 4790k with the fan headers connected to my motherboard (Asus maximus vi formula) and in silent mode, it can keep a 4.6GHz @ 1.34v under 85C without much noise. Stock 4.4GHz @ 1.2v doesn't even head into the upper 70s unless it's something that uses ACX.

With that said, the Hyper 212 EVO is one of the most loved air cooling solutions around.

I don't know anything about your two choices sorry.

That's fine, I'm just looking for some personal experiences with the cooler. I haven't finished finalizing the build yet, but Ive been leaning towards the cryorig r1 since it's pretty good, not as good as the major water coolers, only a few degrees higher at max, but it also looks really nice. Haha thanks for responding.
