As the title says, which would be the better option considering there is a $70 price differential. Plan to overclock either one.

Just throwing this out there, you can get a 1080 for ~$360 shipped on sites like /r/hardwareswap if you feel comfortable buying from another person. There are some good deals on there because people are just trying to upgrade to the next best thing and can offload for pretty cheap. But to answer your question, there is about a 10% different in overall performance and you'll see anywhere from 2%-15% more frames in certain games using the 1080 over the 1070ti. It really comes down to how much performance are you trying to squeeze out of what you're able to buy with the money you have. Some people might see 10% average performance not worth $70, other might see it as a steal.

Probably go with the 1080 just for the warranty. Usually open box / refurbs have a flat 6 month warranty period.
