    You save 400 and still get a more powerful machine on the Vostro to boot.

    I don't think there is anything wrong with the screen. Having both one that was grainy and one that wasn't grainy, i'm willing to bet that it's not the screen's fault. It's whoever applied the anti-glare coating. Looking at both screens while both are off, i could definately see a difference in the greenish coat that was applied on top of the screen.

    These are completely different laptops. The Vostro can be used for gaming while the XPS is a portability dream with style and a bit of guts.

    You gotta go with your needs on this one instead which laptop is better on its own.
