    Vostro 1500

    Xp Home
    15.4" TrueLife XGA+ (1440x900)
Intel Core 2 Duo Santa Rosa 1.6GHz.
    1GB DDR2 667MHz
    GeForce 8400M GS 128MB
    120GB 5400RPM
    8X DVD RW
    Dell 802.11g (standard)
    2.0 Megapixel Webcam
    9 Cell (5hrs;30mins on idle)
    Bluetooth 2.0

    Some stickers, touchpad and keyboard.

Youtube fits comfortably on the 1440x900. I think you could say the screen is grainy, but its not as grainy as the paint job on this thing or your average TV.

Keyboard is laptopy, no numpad, space bar isn't too small for me like in another review. Anything I can complain about here wouldn't matter compared to other laptop keyboards.

Media keys. I keep accidentally pressing them when in a relaxed position and trying to lazily reach for something. All use the symbols, all will light up with blue lights when pressed.

(left to right) mute, vol-, vol+, play/pause, rewind, forward, stop

DVD drive, SD card slot, Firewire mini port, VGA, 10/100 LAN, 2 USB 2.0s

S-video, 2 more USB 2.0s, power. You can see the corner of the 9-cell battery.

I think thats an ancient phone jack or something from the early 1900s.

WiFi thingy (brought up a list of access points when messed with), Vent with visible metal heatsinks, microphone and headphone jacks. Then some kind of card expansion slot.

Free SD card? Found this inside the slot!

Nope, its just a plastic fake SD card. Pretty cool, though.

    Webcam is tiny, 2 hooks.

    Not finger prints.

More like grease stains or something.

    Underside.

Underside; speakers. They get kind of muffled, but sound good anyways. Sound better when laptop is upside down. You'd have to be the greatest bag of douches to actually complain about it. I enjoy the quality as it is.

Power supply. Pretty cool. Its not like any I've seen before, most of what I'm seen go straight forward, but in this one the plastic is forced to turn the cord around.

As for performance, I think this will handle all 3D games fine, but if you expect high/medium settings on modern/recent games then you should be paying more money. Non graphics-whores will have a great time on this machine IMO.

Also, the WiFi. The (Dell 802.11g) can connect at 54.0 Mbps, but in my place in my room right next to my desktop, I get speeds like 36.0Mbps and 48Mbps. My desktop, right next to the laptop, gets 54.0Mbps constant. There is 15-25 ft between the router and us, along with walls. This is only a problem if you are copying files, you are using a speed intensive application, or you are a moron.

Most of the photos are out of focus and noisy (are you using a mobile phone camera?), but a good effort nonetheless. :)

Ordered it 16th, Arrived the 6th.

    3 weeks.

Actually that was my friends 5.0MP camera, and the quality was total asssh*****in low. Most of the pictures were reduced to 25% size and cropped, it was so bad.

This makes me wish I would have gone with the intel. I wonder if I am going to have a problem getting a connection at hotspots sometimes...
