I have a Dell Vostro 1500 and I've been having this problem ever since the first month I got my computer. Here is the problem:

When I shutdown my computer, it will stay in the "Shutting down" screen where it never completely shuts down. For example, if I shut down my computer right now, it will say saving preferences or whatever and then it will then say "Shutting Down..." and it would stay like that for 20 minutes before the blue screen comes up. Here are the stop codes:

    Stop: 0x0000009F (0x00000003, 0x8405F700, 0x861AF3D0, 0x9ACB01C8)

Here is another code that I encountered but tried to take 2 pictures but was unable to before the computer automatically restarted itself. So I only have up until half of the last code:

    Stop: 0x0000009F (0x00000003, 0x8405F5A8, 0x861BF030, 0x854....)

So I have to shut down the computer manually by holding the power button. After that, once I start up the computer again, I would have a Windows Database thing saying they have found the solution in fixing my computer. So it takes me to a website where I can download a patch that "fix" my problems. But the thing is once I download that patch and try to apply it, it states that it does not apply to my computer. And I tried contacting microsoft about it and they want to charge me 50 bucks per phone call to solve my problem. So that is out the window.

I contact Dell about it and they have retarded technicians that doesn't know anything about computers try to help me with it. They do this "dell connect" where they have control over my computer remotely. The guy doesn't even know how to turn off some stuff through msconfig! I continuously contact Dell and they keep saying they don't know what the problem is and they keep giving me this bull**** saying just reformat your computer. Well I can't as I have a ton of programs which I paid for a subscription that once I reformat it I need to pay for another subscription.

I tried looking up for the codes myself with no avail.

If anyone had this problem before or any information about it please let me know. Thanks!
