    Dell Vostro 1500 - Getting a replacement!

    Well yesterday my Dell Vostro which I had received in August brand new all of a sudden broke. While moving my screen the hinge like popped off, hit me, and is now all broken. I didn't move the screen in a bad way or anything so I was terribly shocked. I chatted with dell support and they said they would send me a like or better system within 5 to 8 days.

    Has anyone else gotten a replacement system for their Vostro? Was it the same?

    I really hope it's the same, or better, but not different.

    Not sure what you mean by "different". The replacement should have exactly the same specs as your original. Only differences you may see is the screen (diff manufacturer or the same). Build quality again varies.

    I ordered a 1700 a few weeks ago and I had some problems with it.. They sent me a replacement in one week. It was exactly the same except for the battery. Mine had a 9cell and the replacement had a 6cell. Just swapped them out (it is after all a "replacement part").

    Cool I have the 9cell battery too so i'll just keep that then.
