    Dear Dell,

I bought Dell Vostro 1400 for my lovely father as shipping with Windows Vista Business without do anything such as tweaking/overclock etc as you will ask me. This laptop running for normal daily office use & internet surfing, no gaming as my father is older man for that. On first week using this laptop, frequently this Vostro suddenly hang with a little bit 'blue lines/mark' on screen or sometimes just blank as black screen.

When restart it will be a blank screen but i can see my blue HDD LED blinking as i assumed my hard disk working well to boot Windows Vista Business just that output not appear on my screen. All of this problem almost a year we face it so a little bit frustrated especially for my old men.

Before this, when i got this problem i will restart then go to 'Safe Mode' to uninstall then reinstall Nvidia 8400M GS driver as i download a latest from Nvidia.com then it will be ok for temporary as 3-4 days. This problem i already sent email to Dell customer services(Malaysia) almost a year ago but no reply/feedback until my warranty expired. I also busy with my daily life as i miss my chance to sent it to Dell HQ (Malaysia) that far away from my town where i really depend feedback from online or phone call. But past is past. Nevermind

I know & understand my Dell warranty already expired, but please advice & guide me how to fix this issue as long as you dont ask me to buy a new one. It is possible on laptop we can change VGA adapter (i know it onboard) with others or anything solutions for this issue?

    Thanxs

You'd have to switch out the whole motherboard. I suggest you contact Dell M'sia and tell them you contacted them BEFORE your warranty expired and try to work things out with them. Preferably best if you had proof.
