ok this is really getting to me now  i been using this notebook for over a month now and every now and then the wifi gets disabled and there is no way I can enable it again. The network options and wifi just hangs.

only way to get it up and working is to restart this notebook
    the onboard wireless is a a 3945ABG

    anyone else have similar issues?

Also another thing I notice is that the bluetooth light is always on even when I boot into windows, In windows it shows as bluetooth disabled, but the light is still on

Disable bluetooth in bios. The disconnects maybe something to do with the router. I know when I hate WEP or WPA enabled it cause constant disconnects in windows with various different wireless cards. I use mac address restriction in my router now, and only allow the entered mac addresses.

umm I dont think its the router, cause when it disconnects even the Wifi dies off, as in the wifi light also goes down on the notebook,
only way to get the wifi up again is to restart the notebook.

    anyidea whats wrong here? :S

I have the same problem on my 1400... it doesn't happen often, but it's really annoying when it does happen.

To recap what happens for me:
The blue WiFi light suddenly shuts off without me doing anything in particular
All wireless connections become undetectable until the computer gets restarted
However, my computer doesn't get stuck/freeze (only thing that changes is the wireless that's now gone)

The only modification I've made to the vostro is installing the dell bluetooth card... which is unaffected by the wireless problem...

    I don't think it's a heating issue... and it's definitely not a router issue...

Anyone else with the same problem? Anyone with a solution to this?
