First off, I've decided on purchasing a Vostro 1400. However right now I can't afford it and need to sell of my desktop. The erratic pricing of the 1400 has me worried. Dell is slowly stripping options off and raising the prices. How long are the current selection with ~$300 off each different selection supposed to last? I don't really need a laptop now but I want to save as much as possible so I don't know if it's worth it to sell off my desktop now to buy the laptop or wait a little bit longer. Right now the smart value package is no different then the performance package configuration wise, but the performance package costs $100 more. What is dell doing?

It's quite normal to have the same specs but different prices. Just gotta find the cheapest one

probably adjusting the price per the market, bumping to make more money, as its size capeability and weight i would say its a better business naotebook than the 1500 which is why the 15 has more features and options at a better price with a larger screen and the 14 cost more for less.
