I was curious what makes the Dell "business" laptops business laptops?

The Vostro 1400 seems like a worthwhile buy, so if anyone has any guidance or reviews about the laptop, please let me know! My Inspiron B120 is getting a bit old!

    Obviously I knew that.
I don't know if you're trying to be sarcastic, but I want
    semi-live feedback from real owners.

There is less bloatware and there can be better tech-support, though that won't really apply if you're buying one 1400. Aside from the outer appearance, the 1400 is otherwise the same as the consumer Inspiron 1420.

as the owner of a Vostro 1400 I can safely say that it's a GREAT laptop.

It's the same as the consumer Inspiron 1420 as Simic said. The only physical different is the all black color.

    1) It has much less bloatware and option for XP. I like the fact that Dell will provide support with XP and Vista OS (drivers and such) which to me is a big plus. Inspiron does not offer XP option. Even though you can still put XP on it, Dell just won't support it.

    2) Inspiron has choice of colors, Vostro does not

    3) Inspiron can have Blu-Ray, Vostro does not allow that option yet, but the new Vostro BIOS drivers support Blu-ray drives so you can buy one on the side and use it.

    4) The warranty is cheaper on the Vostro. The Two year extended in home/office is only $79.

    5) VOSTRO IS CHEAPER

    I love mine :)

I just saw this notebook, and I'm actually pretty interested. But the authorized dealer priced it $1300... :(
