Hi all. I have all Windows system sounds turned off via the control panel. So Windows is quiet.

But my Vostro still does plenty of beeping. When it connects to a wireless network, it beeps. When I adjust the volume through the icon in the system tray, it beeps.

How can I turn all this off? The beeping is very much like an old pc speaker. I dislike it, especially when I'm using headphones.

    Thanks!

    Thank you!

    It really is ridiculously loud.

For others: Click on the speaker icon in the taskbar. Click on options, advanced controls. Then click on the advanced button and tick the box next to 'PC Spk Mute'.
