    I've been looking at the Inspiron 1720 and want to save some more money on the configuration. Could I choose the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and buy a GeForce video card from another site and install it? Or are there special connections for a card that are only available with Dell?
    Just to make sure, the new card would come with installation files or I could find them on their site, right?

    Only two options: Integrated or Discrete, both of which can be installed by Dell only.

    Well when you buy an integrated card, there is no slot on the mobo for a dedicated card. So you should get the dedicated card to begin with, then you have the possibility of upgrading depending on what card you choose.
