For those that bought a dell product through the university discount thing...

Do you HAVE to create an account, or can you just order as a guest? Will ordering as a guest take away the discounts?

    And another question...

For the dell university site, it tells you to register for the $200 discount for inspiron, so i entered my .edu account.

But right after that, without confirmation, i was able to enter the discount dell site? Am i missing something, or is this something that anyone can take advantage of, despite whether they are a student/faculty?

The same thing happened to me: I just entered a .edu address and it sent me a coupon. I'm guessing it works for any .edu address (Dell doesn't seem to do authentication)

All you need is a .edu account for it. I think you can get a cheaper system by just using the 300 dell coupons so check that out before u use dell university/
