Is it worth buying? Anyone has any experiences of using it? How is the image, speed, etc.?

I recently bought a 6000, with MCE and remote, just think it would be cool to use a TV Tuner to record some TV programs.

    TIA!

Eh.. save yourself the trouble and get a more featured Fusion 5 or Hauppauge unit for practically the same price.

if you are going to be recording tv make sure to get a 100-300gb external HD so you can keep all of it (it gets addicting haha)

I got the Dell USB TV without shopping around. Well it gives a good sharp image on my E1705. I'm happy I got it because now I can watch TV and surf the web at the same time. The only thing bad about it is the the TV tuner and remote are not built into the system, and it's bulky to carry around. Then you also have to buy an antenna - that's not built in too.

So E1705 is a high-end notebook. Do you think it will still run smoothly on I6000?

The TV tuner and remote are both USB, right? So it is bulky to carry them around. lol I didnt know you need an antenna for it??? I thought it plugs in the cable line?

When I use TV my Dual CPUs are both running 29% of Max - so watching TV is CPU intensive.

It can plug into an antenna line, cable, or an antenna.

I don't know how fast an I6000 is.

I have the Dell / Angel USB tuner and remote. I use it with an i6000D, and it runs fine.

I don't use it for watching normal TV though, I use it to capture video from my DirecTV Tivo. I don't have any complaints about the video quality. But I'm sure something from Happauge or similar would probably be better.

My only complaint about the Dell / Angel USB tuner is that the only software I can get it to work with it Sonic MyDVD, and Windows Media Center. None of my other applications that support video capture (ie Nero) will recognize this unit.

I'm test running my system looking at the internet right now and watching TV on a window all on battery power (full brightness) and I'm getting 1 min per 1% battery power reduction. So I'll be getting 1:35 hrs per battery while the processor goes around 22% to 31% usuage.
