Over the past few months i have noticed that Dell (UK) have seemed to have got rid of the Intel Centrino Duo T7200 (2.0ghz, 667mhz FSB, 4mb L2 Cache). This was the only processor that i was going for... does anyone know if they will reintroduce the T7200?

the T7200 processor is the sweet spot currently for processors the absence is probably due to over demand of processors and inability to provide enough processors increased demand

shaheenarshan is probably correct. Dell relies on parts to be available, and if its not, they will normally take the option of the configuration. The same thing happened with Alienware, and they couldn't supply the T7200 for some time, because the demand for it was far too much than the supply.

    ok cool thanks...

do you reckon that the same goes for the graphics cards they are providing; they are giving you the option for a Nvidia Geforce 7300... but no ATI X1400 anymore?

Yes, its most likely the case with the graphics cards. Most people have found out themselves that the Go 7300 isn't worth the extra money, and they leave the Mobility X1400 configured in their system. The processor and graphics card should be back after some time, just as soon as Dell can get their stock back.

ok i have recently found out that the 6400 that i was looking at was in a different section (they had moved it) and they do have the T7200 still

However i have looked at it but it still only has the Nvidia 7300... but i was looking at the x1400 because it was better. In their product comparison bit, it clearly says that the X1400 is supposed to be in the 6400.. but it's not... then i found out that if i went to the 9400, it has the X1400

any reason why they dont have the X1400 on the 6400?

can i haggle with dell and ask for a X1400 in my machine instead of the 7300?

Dell have probably not got the supply for the 6400. It is supposed to be an option, and offer it was priced less than the Go 7300, even though it outperforms it. See if you can order over the phone, and see if Dell can offer you the card for the 6400, or you could wait and see if the option comes back on the configurator on the Internet.
