    Hey all,

I've asked a similar question before, but unfortunately i did not get a response from an acutal XPS M1330 UK owner. My question is: Are a pair of Creative earbuds and a slip case included? If so, do they perform up to your expectations?

    Thanks for your time guys,

    Shonak :)

Yes there are both in the box.

I had the very same earphones for use with my iPod, I believe that they are rebadged Seinheiser(?) CX300's, I think they are excellent but others think not.

    Thanks!

What is the slip case like? Are there any pockets in there, does it do the job well, and does it look any good?

I personally think the slip case is perfect. It's black with grey trim (XPS imprinted) and a magnetic closure. Great addition for when you want to take just your notebook with you and need some basic protection. No pockets however.

As for the headphones, I personally like them a lot. I've been using them with my iPod instead of the factory buds due to their sound.

May I ask, how basic? It doesn't appear to offer any padding at all beyond the nylon fabric as seen in that image.

    Cheers.

The inside is lined with a soft material to prevent scratches, and there are (I'm guessing) stiff cardboard on the top, bottom, and flap.

It's obviously not going to provide what you'd get from buying a slip case specifically designed for protection, however as a freebie, it does what I need it for.

If I plan on taking my laptop out for an extended period of time, or want more protection, I also have a Dell laptop bag.

    Thanks for that Khris.

The thing is that most slipcases and bags support the mainstream 15.4" form factor, which means that the hardware is going to roll around a bit in both.

I only really need a decent 13.3" slipcase. I'd likely just use my regular satchel or backpack to cart both it and perhaps the power brick around when I need to. It's also less likely to get nicked if I'm not wandering around with a blatant notebook bag in my opinion.

Not that I'd be taking my eye off of it for a second of course. :)

You're probably okay with the included slip case and a regular backpack. It doesn't offer much protection, although I'm not sure what dropping a laptop in a notebook backpack from torso height is prudent either. None of the more 'form-fitting' slip cases are going to provide much protection from drops. They're more for scratches.

The earbuds are essentially the same as the Sennheiser CX300s (from what I can tell the driver as well as the housing are the same). They're quite good quality, especially for 'free'.
