I registered here after spending a long time browsing to decide which system to buy. I'm moving to Dublin on the 31st and wanted to do away with the hassle of a desktop, so settling on a Dell M1530 I had an online chat with an advisor on the 15th who told me that I could expect the system to arrive within 7-10 days.
Naturally this was great news as I would be able to make sure all things worked and transfer things from my desktop before moving. So I purchased it, safe in the knowledge that the system would arrive before I traveled. I even contacted the advisor to thank them and give my order number so that it could be escalated as priority.
When I received my estimate for arrival however, it was for the 1/02/08. A day after I've moved out.
I called their customer service line and was assured that this was a mere technicality and it would likely be here before then. A week later with no more news I called again on the 25th and was told there is nothing they could do to change it and I knew on purchasing it that there was a delay.
Annoyed, not just by being shunted off to India, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they would call me back that afternoon or at least Email me.
So here I am, 5 days after that call managing to get through to the CS manager who can barely speak English and informs me loftily that it is the advisors fault but they won't alter the address for me, they won't compensate me and they certainly won't give give me the details of anyone higher to pass this on to.
The advice I got from this woman was to cancel my order and put it with the Irish branch if I wanted it delivered to Ireland (The place its being sent from in the first bloody place).
Awful Customer Service, I'm livid and I work in CS usually giving the folks a bit a of leeway.
EDIT: Does anybody know of an English Email for Dell that will ensure my complaint is sent to someone in this country?

Just as a quick question, has anybody out there when dealing with Dell and their outsourced den of lies and broken English regarding a delivery been able to have the delivery address changed?
They're being incredibly coy about doing it for me and with the move being quite stressful anyway I really didn't need the added hassle of this. -
hello
This person works at dell in the UK but he is not a customer service person, but if you ask nicely he should be able to help you.

Most companies will be very reluctant to alter shipping addresses, especially for high value items due to the fraud potentials.

My dell came 2 days early couldnt fault there service. I guess the lesson learned here is dont take employees promises.
