Looking at purchasing my first laptop and I'm looking at the XPS m1330. I just wondered if anyone could give me an idea on what Dell UK's customer service is like, as I like to prepare for the worst.

I'm just wondering if they're the good, the bad or the ugly, if people have problems with them when they have to return anything under warranty. I've read about some nightmare scenarios on here but it's not always easy to tell whether these are from Dell UK, US or other countries.

If I think that it's going to be too much hassle in dealing with Dell in the event something did go go wrong, I'm going to look at purchasing either a Samsung Q45 or Q70 as an alternative.

Please let me know what your experience has been with Dell UK.

    Thanks

The structure of the customer service is the usual UK rubbish- call india and spend ages explaining as nobody understands proper english.

Once you get past that- dell are very good however. Currently they have arranged a refund for me without any bother and i am glad to say I have placed another order with them. Cannot fault them so far apart from the obvious problems associated with indian call-centres. Their policies on technical support, refunds, warranty etc appear pretty sound- I would not fault them in that respect at all.

    Thanks for the response.

Indian call centres are a bit of pain in the neck, I have to deal with them for my mobile contract on orange, but I can live with that providing they don't mess you about with any repairs/replacements etc.
