    Hello Guys

I recently purchased Dell Ultrasharp U2412M monitor from Dell Canada. It was on a special so I ended up paying $250 plus taxes. Now I have noticed a problem with the backlight of this system and I am seeking some advice on whether to ask for a replacement. The reason I ask this is because many on the web have stated that it's a drawback of LED technology and this will always be an issue.

If you had this problem would you seek a replacement?

Here are some snaps for your consideration:

Get a replacement for your case, it is much worse than typical. Typical acceptable level is that there is no visible difference with light on.
i am not sure back light bleed is led only, but it is one of the common problem you get on IPS. I think my ccfl have slight bleed as swell.

Thanks for the feedback. I will go ahead and ask for a replacement. I don't want them to try and fix/repair this existing system instead I want to ensure I get a replacement. Any tips on how to go about asking Dell for replacement would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

It's a lot worse than mine. I can barely see the leak in the top left and right corner on mine in a dark room. Dell has free return on those monitor I believe, just call them.
