    Hi!

I have an Inspiron 1720 with a Dell TrueMobile 355 Bluetooth adapter.

A lot of times when I restart the PC, the bloototh device is not "seen" or "detected"

It's not in the device manager either.

I have to unplug it and replug it in order to get it to work again.

    Anyone knows what's causing this?

    Thank You!

    What devices are they?

If it's keyboard and a mouse, you may have to install logitech's setpoint.

    It's a dinovo Logitech keyboard.

Windows installed the Truemobile 355 driver on its own.
Then I installed the Dell Utility for the 355 bluetooth adapter.
And last I installed the Logitech Setpoint software.

But the problem here is that WINDOWS stops seeing the device all together. It just goes missing even in the device manager.

Se if it works without Dell's BT stack, or with a different BT stack (Toshiba's?).

Depending on your needs, Windows built-in BT support may be enough.

About to give up with this bluetooth crap.

I guess I'll stick to regular cordless for now!

i have a belkin bluetooth keyboard, and find that its a bit slow to recognise on my inspiron

when i had xp and used the belkin bluetooth adapter, it was super quick (ie if the keyboard was sat around not being used for a period of time and i picked it up and started typing, 2 seconds and it would type)

with my new inspiron and vista, it recognised and installed the keyboard fine, but the delay now is about 20 seconds, its very annoying to say the least

i cant find any drivers for th this keyboard anywhere either, its a belkin F8T040 if anyone by any grace of god knows where i can find one , itsa not even on the belkin website for some wierd reason , any ideas ?

I'm having the same problem: Dell Inspiron 1720 with built-in Truemobile 355 Bluetooth adapter. I get the message something like "USB device stopped working...." When I look in eventviewer I see the system log event ID 17 "The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded."

I don't have any bluetooth devices but wanted to buy a WiiMote/Nunchuck controller for some custom apps but since my bluetooth adapter keeps "falling off" I've been holding off purchasing any BT devices.

I have the same problem with my DELL XPS M1330 running on Vista business.

I can install the bluetooth mouse and it works fine. Once if I shutdown and
come back again, the mouse is disabled. I have to install it again.

I tried installing different drivers including Logitech Setpoint drivers. No use.

The same mouse works absolutely fine in my Toshiba Tecra running Win XP

I have finally purchased a normal wired mouse.

Could anyone find a solution for this problem ? Is this a Vista isue ?

check device manager. You probably have a ! over the BT device. Disable then re-anable it. It should then be back working again. I had tons of issues with mine. I have sense got a 360 and havent had any problems

A lot of you are missing the point. The problem is NOT the device. It is the 355 card. If you look at the device manager when this is happening you can see the 355 bluetooth radio with an exclamation by it and the second item that should be there, the bluetooth enumerator, is gone.

This happens to me on occassion as well. What I do is right click on the radio in the manager and choose disable. Wait a few seconds then right click and re-enable. If it works the exclamation is gone and the enumerator re-appears. 99.9% of the time it clears up the problem. If not a reboot does.

This has been going on for me since day one that I got the 1720. Again, it is NOT the devices that are being conneted but rather the internal card in the laptop.

Are you using stock driver from Dell? Try the Anycom driver as they are newer versions. Just use the one for USB250.
