I was looking at the 13.3" MBP, but recently started to think I could get something of equal or greater power in the PC market.

The studio I am looking at is as follows:

    Processor NEW 2010 Intel® Core™ i3-330M 2.13GHz (3M cache)
Operating System Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
Office Software Microsoft Works 9 DOES NOT INCLUDE MS WORD
    Security Software McAfee SecurityCenter, 15-Months
HD Display 15.6” High Definition (720p) LED Display with TrueLife™ and Camera
Memory 6GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
Hard Drive 500GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Graphics Card ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470, 1GB
Optical Drive 8X Slot Load CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive)
Battery Options 56 Whr Lithium Ion Battery (6 cell)
    Wireless Card Dell 1501 Wireless-N
Sound Options High Definition Audio 2.2

The macbook pro (13")is as follows:

    2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
    250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
Backlit Keyboard (English) / User's Guide
    SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

The dell is 899, where as the MBP is 1150 (student discount). Is there any justifiable reason to get the MBP when I am more comfortable with windows?

    Thanks for any info!

Its an apples to oranges comparision between these two since the 13" MBP is more of a portable laptop and the Dell Studio 15 is on the heavier side of the Mid range laptops.

From a pure performance standpoint though the Dell is better and since your more comfortable with Windows there isn't much reason to pay the Apple premium.

Definitely look for a Dell coupon though. I don't think the Studio 15 is worth the full price of admission.

In addition, be sure to check out the 13" Dells if you're interested in the portability. You should be able to find an E4300 or E4310 for around the $1K range (even lower if you check out the Dell Outlet).

    Mr. Robin24K
Thanks for changing my descision as I was contemplating the change over from Dell XPS M 1330 to MBP 13 but rethinking to leave windows and if not then upgrade to Latitude E4310.
