    Heres the situation,

I bought a brand new Dell Studio 15 exactly one week ago (its got a years warrany) it hasnt been dropped or thrown about at all, and about 2 days ago the screen started going weird when I tipped it back past a certain point. Could this be because of a loose connection within the laptop itself? I just want to check up and see if its something I can fix myself before sending it back to dell.

board says i have to make 15 posts before i can upload pics, i guess i can pm them if you think you can help

    thanks very much :)

Where are you located? If in the U.S you should have next business day at home service. You can take a look at the teardown guide at support.dell.com which will basically tell you to take off the keyboard and check the connector to the motherboard. If you want you can send me the pictures and I can post them up for you.

If this is a brand new S15, and your already having trouble like this...You are still in your 21 day return period..Why not return it for a new one? :)

Or, if you don't want to do that..then get the screen replaced & fixed?

    Up to you. ;)

    Cin ;) :)

Sorry I should have said I live in the UK,

Well I've already transfered all of my data from my old laptop to this one and got all of my programs installed so I would want to keep hold of it rather than send it back.

As I said before, do you think its somthing that I could fix myself? I dont want to void the warrany by fiddling about inside though :\

links to the pics of the screen are in my sig

What you can do it take out the hard drive before you return it for service. They will probably suggest that you do so anyhow so that they aren't liable for your data. That's really weird that it looks like that after a certain angle. I'd let the professionals handle it; you don't want to void your warranty after just a few days.
