Is it worthwhile adding any additional support on top of the default 1 year option? I'm reasonably competent when it comes to laptops (I've got a 5 year old Inspiron and have changed the memory and hard drive, and given the fan a clear out a couple of times.

It seems expensive, but is it worth it?

Absolutely. The longer you keep it, the more likely some part will fail that you won't want to pay for yourself (or can't really get on your own). I can dismantle and rebuild my laptop quite easily, and already have numerous times, but I'll avoid paying for individual parts at the drop of a hat. Yes, I'm paying up front, but it's easy enough to far surpass the up front payment in replaced parts, especially with completecare.
