I can't use the fingerprint reader because I upgraded from Vista 32bit Home Premium to Win 7 Pro.I tried looking on the net and could not get the Person fingerprint reader to work.Is there a link on getting the 64bit software for Win 7 or some other alternative free software that can work on the 64 bit

Windows 7 has its own fingerprint infrastructure, so while I haven't tried it myself you can probably use the reader without any extra software.

Dell should offer a 64 bit Vista download of the reader software. That's what I did when I upgraded my Dad's Studio 17 to 7 64 bit. Worked without issue, just run the installer in compat mode to be safe.

What model are you working with?

dell won't support my model for Win 7 64bit.So they won't send me any 64bit software.

For the second time, what model is it? Vista 64 bit should work...

For instance, this is what was used on my Dad's Studio 17: Link to D-ell support download page

^^That's just an example, because you won't tell us what you're working with, but that Vista 64 bit driver works perfectly with 7.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit too on a studio 1537 and while I've managed to get Windows inherent fingerprint reading software working I've yet to get Digital Persona to work. Like you said, Dell won't send you any 64 bit software if your original OS is 32 bit.

He's not looking for the driver, he's looking for a 64 bit version of Digital persona Fingerprint software.

    DigitalPersona Vista 64 bit
Specifics would help. Here's the software from HP for Vista 64 bit, should work. Run the installer in compatibility mode for Vista SP1, and run as admin.

    Top hit from Google search.

No problem. Sorry for coming off as a jerk previously, but to get the most effective help here, we need as many details about your system as we can get. ;)

    Best of luck!
