Does anyone know off hand if opening up my laptop would affect my warranty? I am taking a ComTIA A+ course, and I wanted to open the case to my Dell Laptop in class, but my instructor wasn't sure if I should because he said the warranty may not be any good if I open it.

Are there any stickers that says (Warranty Void if Removed or Cut).

If not then your probably ok.

No, I don't see any...It would seem that I should be able to for reasons such as adding memory...but, I just wanted to be sure that I don't have to have a Dell tech open it.

Open it up. Most can be stripped all the way down to clean out the dust. If there is any component that would void the warranty there will be a sticker that you have to break to remove the component.

You'll find a service manual at Dell Support that tells you exactly how to take your laptop apart. You should read it so you will know what you are doing. If you break anything while taking it apart it isn't covered by the warranty.
