    Hi all,

I am using my old 1747 again and I just tried to use the front right usb port for the first time and it does not respond to anything I connect. How can I tell if the port is dead or could this be related to something else? Please advise me. Thx.

Try a clean install? You could also try booting off some sort of live CD? Under those circumstances if only one of your USB is bad... then it's probably a hardware problem.

Hey CW, guess what? I took the laptop apart and the connector was not properly inserted. Damn whoever fixed this laptop.

P.S. Do you know where I can buy some screws for my 1747 for cheap? Mine's missing some screws. The techie who fixed this laptop earlier this year did a terrible job...
