    Hi,

I have finally decided to install an SSD in the other bay and us it primarily as a windows 7 boot drive and prog drive.

I need a little help I originally decided upon the 60gb OCZ Vertex 2E as it has awesome reviews.

Then i saw a new release of the 64GB Crucial RealSSD C300 2.5-inch SATA 6GB/s

This is the new drive and has awesome read speeds and is actually cheaper at £105 compared to £130 for the OCZ

so.... What does the studio 1747 support in terms of SATA is it I, II or probably dreaming here III support? I couldnt find an answer to this on the web

Even if it doesnt support III is it still worth buying the crucial drive rather than the OCZ one as it should achieve maximum performance as its back compatable to SATA II 3gb/s?

please any info/advice would be much appreciaed

I'm pretty sure the 1747 supports up to SATA 3Gb/s. I don't think there is currently a laptop that supports SATA 6Gb/s. Nonetheless, there's no reason not to get the faster C300 if it's cheaper than the slower alternative. You can still take advantage of the C300's higher random write speeds, etc.
