    Hi guys

I have a studio 1745 that I am very happy with but I replaced the screen s couple of years ago and it has been dull ever since it was replaced. The scenario goes - I dropped the laptop, I switched it on to find the screen was broken, ordered a replacement which was not from dell and ever since I fitted it the screen has been very dull, like the back light is not working. I have extensively searched the net for causes and has far has I can work out it is caused by a blow fuse on the mother board that is in position to stop a over voltage feedback caused by a broken screen. The problem i have is 1: I have no experience working on motherboard so don't recognise a motherboard fuse and 2: is this actually the cause or have I become confused and incorrectly diagnosed the cause. Any help you can give would be massively apppreciated

Try a local computer repair shop. If they're unable to fix it, you may have to pay Dell to fix it.

Assuming you did not (which is what it sounds like), you should get a screen that was originally made for/came from a 1745. If that still doesn't work, then you might have a problem with the motherboard.
