Briefly discussed in a previous thread of mine.

Im considering upgrading my T3200 CPU (GM45 Chipset) and was considering the T9600 as this seems the best value / most available. The P9800 also seems a good bet (same as T9600 but lower TDP I think), but is a little harder to find.
Anyway, I have got myself in a state of confusion! and would like some clarification as to if this upgrade will actually work or not ?
In my previous post it was mentioned that it would, but I have started to doubt myself now.
The T9600 is listed here as "479-ball micro-FCBGA"
Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 processor - AV80576GH0726M
The T3200 is listed here as "478-pin micro FC-PGA"
Intel Pentium T3200 processor - - LF80537GF0411M
Leading me to think that a 479 will not fit in a 478 (1 too many pins).
Here details upgrades to the 478, and the T9600 or it's family are not listed
Socket 478 (mPGA478B)
But...
On the intel site for the T9600
ARK | IntelĀ® Core
it says "Sockets Supported BGA479, PGA478" which would indicate the T9600 WOULD fit in my 478 Socket P.
Also, here for upgrades to the "GM45 Chipset" the T9600 IS listed as an upgrade option
CPU-Upgrade: Intel GM45 Express chipset processor support
I think some of the confusion has risen from me not completely understanding if I have a Socket P mPGA478 or mBGA479. I THINK that my GM45 chipset accepts both PGA478 AND BGA479 chips, I just happen to have a 478 chip (T3200) installed. This led me to thinking that I am limited to 478 CPU's.
In summary, I think I may of answered my own question as I have wrote this all down!! lol, but any help greatly appreciated, especially if you have first hand experience of upgrading these particular CPU's.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Since the 1737 has a 45-Series chipset, you can use the T9600, and basically all Socket P processors (except for maybe quads and extremes).
