Yesterday I flashed my 1737 to the A07 BIOS because DELL says it gets the machine ready for Windows 7.
Flash went perfect, machine works fine. Heres the problem.
the CPU runs very hot now, web surfing checking emails in the 40C to 47C range
when before with the A06 BIOS I only cracked 37C 39C was with lots of video and Gaming.
So I will be emailing DELL to see whats going on, I am very upset about this. Oh and the Fan wont stop running now. and I am at 37C on Core 0 and 33 on Core 1, which is Cool. But the fan does not stop.
GPU is at 41 C no gaming, 1 web page open thats all. For over an hour now.
But it does this all day.

I think you can revert back the BIOS by flashing it once again using the older BIOS executable. At least in the HP notebooks, you have that option.
-
Ice Cold, I have the exact same problem. Would you mind posting here what Dell said, I was going to go back to A06, but I don't know where to get it from...?

from the same place where it says previous versions -

well I finally ran Mobility Modder and updated from 8.5 to 9.9. Things are running good now, better I am giving it a week or so.
DELL has new 8.6 Drivers from ATI, But now 9.9 and A07 are playing much nicer with each other.
Only down side of the new 8.6 from DELL or 9.9 using Mobility Modder is that you lose Avivo Color which controls Hue and Saturation in the CCC Catalyst Control Center.
All you have to do is get the colors to your liking then install the new Drivers an CCC.
Or you can always go back to the Factory Drivers on the DVD it came with. Things are running good with the new 9.9.
I think before I upgrade to Windows 7 I will go back to stock 8.5 drivers they have always worked great, and Have Full Features. Like Hue and Saturation. -
Update actually good news
I found the Avivo Color Hue and Saturation, they are just deeply hidden. Both on the 8.6 Drivers from DELL and the 9.9 from ATI using Mobility Modder
Just start CCC
navigate to Desktop & Displays
you will see a Laptop there, then Right Click on Icon and select Configure. And there are ALL the setting and more.
Phew.
This is also handy in cases like me where I use HDMI to Extend my Desktop to an external 22" LCD, Just plug into HDMI or VGA, and Click Extend, Duplicate, or Replace.
I pick Replace that way my 17" laptop display goes off, and all I use is the 22" LCD.
