    Hi Everybody.

I just thought I would put this put there as an informational post.

Many Dell Studio 17 series laptops shipped with terrible wifi mini cards. Common problems are poor/slow or no wireless N connections.
Some of the poor cards are the 1501 card and the 1510 card, and the Centrino card.

As of this post the best replacement card I've seen is the dell/Broadcomm 1520 minicard which can be obtained from ebay for about 10 dollars. This card allows full wireless N connectivity and allows the laptop to see 2.5 AND 5 ghz networks. it is a direct plug in replacement, and works flawlessly on my 1747. I Highly Recommend this replacement.

    Happy Surfing!
