Dell Studio 17 Delivery So Quick ???

I ordered my Dell studio Jet black on 12/31, production on 2nd jan 2009, its released for delivery today 5th jan 2009 SOOO QUICK!!! MY GOD

my EDD was 15th Jan 2009


Is it really possible? more over its festival season!!!

last time my previous order with studio 17 took 3 weeks to get to phase 5


am confused

 

I made a similar thread abot my new 1737 which I custom ordered on 12/9

and got delivered 12/15, I did have Overnight Air shipping added free, but I had been told its at least 3 days for DELL just to build a new order.

I trippled checked everything to make sure it wasn't someone elses old system.

I guess they are just fast.

I also Live in Miami, which is where DELL has Alienware Headquarters, so they must have some extra fast shipping to this area from DELL's main warehouse.

It was weird, DELL shipped my system on 12/13 which was a Saturday to FedEx, and on 12/14 which was a Sunday..FedEx shipped it from TN to Miami in 1 day, and I got it on 12/15

Even the people at FedEx I called were confused because they have never seen a package travel from State to State on a Sunday.

They said be happy it must have been some extra hours because of Christmas FedEx must have had the Facility next to DELL's warehouse working extra.

 

As long as FedEx or UPS for that matter get the package and have it on a truck it will travel on the weekend. I see FedEx and UPS semi's all the time on the weekends.

If you got a fairly common configuration it might be possible that they have a few made just to get them out quickly.

 

Nice..that's a fast build and delivery! Be very happy with that.

Pretty sure that's what happened to me.

Not complaining at all.

 

i always get my dell deliveries in 3 days when i order from dell malaysia when im visiting malaysia.

i think maybe areas closer to where they have their assembly get it quick.

no idea why in the UK it takes so long even though its made in Ireland :|

 

lols....I live in uk too, Gosh this made me shock!! i mean the delivery and the order phases, last time it took 3 weeks and 1 day for them to deliver my studio 17, but this time i placed the order on 31st dec New years eve, and it was on phase 3 on 2nd of jan, and out to delivery one 5th evening, i was really surprised and confused cos was that mine or someone else's system or was that any website error showing wrong tracking sys...

i got a call from dell and the rep said that my system is out of the dell lab and on the way to delivery...

really surprising..

Have you got plum purple...have you got any pics of them, i really wonder how it look like, i was to ordder the plum purple later cancelled it as i was confused about the tones they show sometimes reddish soem time purplish so i dont know what it really looks like and ended up with black.

 

i ordered my 1737 on the 31st and it was dispatched to delivery on the 5th, due to be delivered on the 8th. can't wait!

 

Mine the same, ordered 3st, sent out on 5th evening, and now its on the way to be delivered tomarrow (8th) morning

 

HEyy, I order mine this pass monday, 5th, and it says it was estimated ship is on thursday of next week the 15th. Do you think it could come any sooner ?? :\ i kinda need to before school starts

this is what i discovered lately, my last order took 3 weeks adn a day is cos that time dell had overwhilming orders, they have mentioned it on their dell webiste itself in red " delivery on studio 17 " will take upto 3 weeks, thats how mine took really long last time.

but this time i placed my order on 31st which is a new years eve, the order left the dell lab on 5th and it was witht he delivery team for a 2 days and was deliverend on 8th that is today , even though my estimated delivery was for 15th of january 2009.


dont worry you'll get it on time, you know what, dell had made some tiny changes to the model than the ones people got around oct last year, last time the ac adapter was really bulky, but this one i recived today has got a slim adapter its really tidy and nice, more over there is a slight change in the matte finish too this is durable.

latest ones have got a blue light near the power cord in blue really wow!!! i wish to take picture of them but my camera is not in a state to take pictures at he moment.

 

Flipside, did you get your order early? I order mine on the 16th and it still says in production and an estimated ship date of the 27. delivery is expected between 31-2nd. I wish it would come sooner!!!

 

I've also just purchased a studio 17 today and have been given an estimate of 10th of march. Im usually a patient man but gimme gimme gimme! I wanted it before me birthday on march 3rd maybe I might get lucky.

 

What ya know, they got to the delivery stage in 2 days! Even better is they are gonna deliver on my birthday woo! Good service in my experience!
