What battery life can I expect from a Dell Studio 17? Anybody have one with the integrated Intel 4500 graphics and can comment on how long their battery lasts? What about the ATI graphics? The review says about 2 hours on the extended 9 cell battery which seems pretty short.

I am not sure it depends on use and CPU for example. I have a 1737 with a T9400 Core 2 Duo 6MB cache 1066Mhz FSB its uses 35 watts TDP. And I have the ATI 3650 graphics, plus the 1920x1200 RGB LED display. Before I upgraded my Hard drive to Solid state if I was carefull I could get well over 3 hours with the screen at half brightness
Now the same 1737 configured differently. With a P8400 CPU 3MB cache which only uses 25 watts TDP. Has the Intel 4500 graphics which uses way less power, and has standard 1440x900 LED display, Should definitely get Much better battery life as a default.
Just the same way a Ford Mustang with a V6 will get better gas mileage than the same Mustang with a V8 -
Hmm 3 hours with your config is better than what the review sites seem to be getting, so that's good. You had the 6 cell battery, right? I wonder how notebookreview got only 2 hours on a 9 cell with a similar config to yours.
I'm hoping the integrated Intel X4500 can get better battery life. I was able to get 5.5 hours on a Studio 1537 with the 6 cell battery. -
because the website review did not base it off the newest chipset. The PM45 Montiveniea which was not even out when the did the review.
