    Hi guys,

So I was disassembling my laptop with this guide ( How to disassemble Dell Studio 1555 laptop >> Inside my laptop) so that I could clean out all the dust in my fan. When I put the laptop back together and turned it back on, everything was in order except the wireless doesn't work anymore! I can still use the internet with a ethernet cable, but I was wondering where I went wrong.

When I go to Network Connections, sometimes I see the Intel Wifi AGN 5100, and other times I don't I have tried enabling and disabling the adapter, but nothing works. I have even tried opening up the laptop and taking out the mini wirless card (as seen in step 13 of the guide) and putting it back in, to no avail. If anyone has a suggestion, please do tell.

Also the red/black wire pair near the bottom most left screw, seemed to have come out of whatever it was connected to. I put it back, but a piece of the plastic broke so it seems to not be as tightly put in. Just adding this piece of information in case it helps.

Did you make sure you plugged the wifi antennas in to the wifi card? The wifi and bluetooth antennas look very VERY similar...I made this mistake once. Double check your wire routing under the keyboard or make sure you have the correct ones plugged in.

my wireless card looks exactly like this:
    http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-disassembly/laptop-disassembly-14.jpg

The white antenna is in the white slot and the black antenna is in the black slot. Is that what you mean? Or do you mean the other side of the all the wires (like through the hole and directly under the keyboard). Sorry, I'm kind of a computer noob.

    PS:
I was kind of confused since all these wires that go through the hole seem to just connect to the monitor/display. Also, this detail may help: the wireless card does not show up under device manager.

EDIT: I got the Intel Wifi Link AGN 5100 to show up in my device manager. However therei s a yellow exclamation point next to it saying it doesn't work because of code 31 (drivers or something). I have tried updating the driver, but it doesn't seem to be affecting it at all. And even thought the device shows under device manager, it doesn't show up in my adapter settings (only the ethernet cable connection does).

What happens if you uninstall the driver and reboot and let them reinstall?
