Recently we put a cd to play in my Dell Studio 1555 laptop and now when you turn it on the screen stays black and you can't eject the cd or do anything. It just stays black the whole time. thoughts?

There is no BIOS logo or anything? Was it working previous to when you put in the disc?

Hanging on a black screen and you still have video could be a bad file system. Try extracting the drive and hooking it up to another computer, running /chkdsk -r on the drive.
