Hi, recently I had to send my Dell Studio 1555 into Dell's depot to get the machine repaired. When I got it back, I saw that they replaced the lid (which was not the issue, though the hinges were going so maybe it was that.)

The computer came back worse than it was sent in. When I took the bottom panel off to reinstall my HDD, I saw the Bluetooth antenna undone. I just thought it was a mistake, and replaced it myself. After attempting to boot the computer up for the first time I found that I could not use the touch pad. That had stopped working. This is mostly irrelevant though. They sorta kinda fixed it.

What I'm posting about is there was a bump on the lid, right in the upper right corner. It was noticeable though not big. Kind of like a pimple. It was still the same color as the lid. I should have taken a picture.

When Dell sent a tech out to repair everything they broke trying to repair the computer, I got a new lid. This lid also has a bump, except now in the upper left corner. Thankfully this one isn't as noticeable.

Basically, I'm just wondering if there is some sort of defect in the lids for the Studio 1555, or at least the Midnight Blue ones. That, or when the person replacing the lid installed them they pushed something too far in and made a bump. I have had this twice now. I'm probably not going to call over this (I'll wait until something else breaks,) but I'd just like to know if anyone has heard of anything like this before.

I don't think anything internal can cause the lid to have such a "pimple" like bump. That's probably the way it is when it was painted.
