    Dear all,

    yesterday I upgrade Dell Studio 1537 (Core2Duo T6400 @2.00Ghz) to Q9000 (from my Alienware M17X).

I can boot and run it smooth ~ 1-2 hours after my dell Studio will BSOD :( .
Can I help me resolve it ?

I think it don't have enough voltage for core because temp is OK (45-55 when idle)

If you think it's a matter voltage, you can try using RMClock or ThrottleStop or something of the like to bump the voltages... I'd say the 1537's power circuitry just can't take a quad and is flaking out on you.

Does it BSoD only under load? Or will it do it if it's idling as well? What about a clean install... just to eliminate any software issues?

I'm running a Intel T9600 without any problems. When my Studio 1536's AMD motherboard died I replaced it w/ a 1537 motherboard. During my research I determined going Quad core was beyond the ability of the 1537 motherboard. This was not a set in stone fact, just more a case of "no one was using a quad core" so I went with the T9600 & this laptop has never been better.

There is another thread on here somewhere where someone has done it - they had to turn speedstep off in the BIOS to get the system stable.

Not ideal, but it should stop the crashes
