    My Studio keeps overheating on the 'High Performance' power plan. The laptop is 8 months old, under warranty, and this has only started happening recently.
    Upon switching the power plan, the temperature rises very quickly. I'm using HWMonitor, and the temperature that always rises is the TZ00 entry. Excuse my ignorance, but I'm unsure what this temperature means, but it has got up to high 90s (C) before, usually reaching high 80s.

    The fan then kicks in, very fast and very loud, which will eventually lower the reading to the 50s but the fan won't slow down. Sometimes this doesn't happen, and even with the fan on the computer turns off. (I'm assuming from overheating as it is hot to touch.
    The image is of HWMonitor some time after the power plan has been activated.
    I should point out I use the notebook in a well ventilated area on a flat surface.

    I have a couple of questions relating to this;
    Is this within normal operating conditions or is it possible that this could do damage?
    Is this an issue I should pursue with Dell support? I have called them once, some BIOS changes were made, for no solution to the problem.
    Thanks. Sorry if I've missed important information, quite new to this.
