    Hi Guys

I have recently purchased a Dell Studio 1537 with the Optiarc BC-5600s Blu-ray/DVD-rewriter drive. I have been experiencing a few problems with the drive:

The drive stutters for a few seconds while playing DVD movies (roughly every 5-10 minutes)

Also, The drive doesn't like reading some CDs. When I insert them the drive makes noises which indicate it is trying to read them, but it fails to do so and then after about a minute the whole system crashes

A Dell technician came yesterday and replaced the drive, but this did not fix the problem.

    Anyone got any ideas??

    Cheers
    Matt

    I also have a 1537 with the Blu-Ray drive.
Does the skipping only happen when playing regular DVD movies? What playback software are you using? I actually havn't watched and DVD movies on mine yet, only Blu-Ray :D and havn't had the problem you are describing.
Is it a specific kind of CD you are trying to play?
That kinda stinks that you got it replaced and it didn't fix the problem.
