The internal Mic on my machine is hardly working. I can hardly record anything. I tried the mic boost which helps but brings in a lot of noise. I first tried the IDT array mic thingy and then my headset mic connected to line-in, the later option was better but only slightly.

Is there any one who has a nicely working mic setup? if so, please share your settings, will be much appreciated

If you do a search with Studio 15 and mic you will find a lot of complaints about the Studio 15's mic.

Don't use the Mic boost with the integrated mic : it add alot noise and doesn't raised the volume that much.

Just level up the volume bar, the quality of integrated mic aren't the best anyway. If you have more needs, you should get an headset.

I actually did a search and didn't see any solution.

In fact I have another problem - if I sleep the studio overnight, it never wakes up again - and this problem showed up in search big time, so I just didn't post it again.

Yeah, I learnt that about the mic boost

I actually tried an headset with a small mic too (apart from the IDT array mic, which I believe is next to the webcam) but even that was useless. Do I need some "special" kind of external mic? (I don't believe so as with my old headset I have had many internet chat sessions on my older Thinkpad.)
