    Okay guys,
So here's the deal. I've ordered a Dell Studio 15 with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 with 256MB. Now I am getting info that the 256MB version uses DDR2 and the 512MB version uses DDR3/GDDR3! IS THIS TRUE?! If it is, I only have a few hours before I can change my order!

I called up several dell techs/sales reps and NO ONE HAS A Cute my little pony CLUE! ?!

PLEASE HELP! A few dell owners I asked said that it always comes with GDDR3, but that could be because I am in Canada and the canadian version is different maybe? Because the first thing the techs and reps say is "DDR2", and then I asked, "are you sure?".. they say NO! :(

    HELP!!!!!

The Mobility Radeon HD 4570 uses GDDR3 in either version. I have the 256MB. I've found it to be a surprisingly well-performing card despite its misleadingly mid-range model number and modest 64-bit bud width.

The moronic Sales Rep/Techs confused me! As I said, the first thing they said was DDR2! And they weren't even sure about it. THE DELL TECH WAS ACTUALLY USING GOOGLE! I am pretty much sure they saw the specs looked at "DDR2" in RAM and said the same.

THANKS A TON GUYS! I AM SO BADLY HOPING ITS GDDR3! Lets hope!

There's no reason to hope; it's GDDR3, plain and simple. If it's DDR2, then it's not a 4570 at all.

question out of serious curiosity.. IS THERE ANY CHANCE THAT THE SPECS OF THE CANADIAN VERSION DELL STUDIO 15 MIGHT DIFFER? I still have doubts :D I have a HUGE ISSUE of having the buyer's remorse. It affects me more than anyone on earth probably :|

oops mastershroom, i didn't read your comment before posting my last reply. Anyways, the specs of the 4570 DO SAY that it is available in DDR2. So what I thought was, maybe the GDDR3 versions are in XPS and those higher-end laptops. But anyways, THANKS A MILLION GUYS.. I WAS WORRIED AS F***.. As I said, I have a huge problem with buyer's remorse.

I already have bought Far Cry 2 hoping for 1024x768 Medium Settings action! LOL. Sad, I know. I also know its repetitive as F*** but I don't care as long as it'll look pretty :D

Hey, I'm Canadian as well and I'll confirm the HDMI works perfectly on my studio 1555, the sound and picture are beautiful, I've had no problems what so ever while outputting HD video to my 40" lcd tv.

Also, don't worry the video card is GDDR3.

HDMI audio works just fine. Far Cry 2 runs for me just fine at 1366x768 (720p), if I keep the settings down.

Don't worry, I actually went to the Canadian Dell site to select that user manual just to be absolutely certain that it would be GDDR3.
