I am thinking about purchasing a Dell Studio 15 and have a few questions.
This may sound like a dumb question but bare with me..I have some concerns over the hinge mechanism. If i were to sit on a couch with the laptop in my lap, does the screen bend back far enough that i will get the best possible view? All video reviews ive seen have the laptop on a desk.
Ive also read some posts about the keyboard flexing, has this been fixed? How much does it really flex? Is there anything else I should be concerned about?

Keyboard flex is minimal. Nothing to be worried over. And the screen i would say goes back just as far as you would need it before stopping. It doesnt do a full 180 like some laptops but maybe like 150-160*
Edit: think of a macbook or macbook pro on how far they go back if you have seen one. Its the same idea. -
Yeah you can adjust the screen for the optimal viewing while sitting with it. My keyboard doesn't really bother me. I guess if you are a hard typer or something it might bother you, but you have to really mash the keys.

I appreciate the quick responses. I now see what you mean about the screen, that should be enough for me to be comfortable with it on my lap.
Hopefully i don't have any problems, I think I'm going to buy it.
Thank you both,

very comfortable reclined on couch with it on my lap ,
barely any keyboard flex -
That's the exact system I'm getting for xmas. -
Nice, the only thing i would do is raise the screen resolution some.

I was just wondering if the Studio 15, with the specs mentioned above, would run autocad properly. Alot of people have been complaining about the radeon GPU being lousy, but would it be decent for autocad and such. I know it won't perform to the extent of quadro or firegl but i'm just an intro cad user and just need a machine to work. I like the look of the studio 15 and am happy with the major of the specs, just the graphics card hold me back. If you guys can help me out that would be great!
