If you have no credit history or a poor credit history, you probably won't get approved for Dell credit.

A credit card is not credit history.

yeah...**** it i really want the studio 15 right now, question how much more hrs would i get with the 85Whr

Don't use the DPA unless you get some sort of 12 months 0% because the interest rates are ridiculously high, like 29.99%
With the 9 cell you'd probably see 3.5 to 4 hours. -

well i want to do the DPA because i don't have the full 800-900

You will not get approved.

As a student you can easily find a credit card or two large enough to hold that balance. Trust me, you do not want to pay the DPA's interest fees.

Did I advocate getting Dell credit?

I agree with atbnet, a student credit card (like the one I have with Bank of America) has a starting limit of around $1000.
@Lihus, it wasn't the credit crunch that started this whole mess. Financial leverage (i.e. 'credit') is what drives the economy. It's when corporate greed, predatory lending practices, and government plans get involved that the curtain comes crashing down. Nothing wrong with a credit card in and of itself. -

"entitlement generation" my foot. Speaking for the twenty-somethings I know, I don't feel 'entitled' to anything. And I've learned more from the internet (forums, wikis, and straight googling stuff) than I have from higher education (which I have to pay back loans for that are in my name not my parents)
Hooray for one-line generalizations~ -
I agree, I already have more in student loans than my parents paid for their house years and years ago. I really don't want to hear that we are just given everything.
