I know Black is the Default color but they have other colors to choose from and you have to pay an extra $40. I heard the colors are not good like the red looks way too red and the blue looks a bit purple. The only color that i like is the spring green. Does anyone have this computer and have it this color? The default black doesn't look too good but the spring green does but it might look bad in person?

Color is always a matter of taste...I had a Dell Mini in the Spring Green color. I thought it looked quite nice. It's kind of a very slightly yellowish green--not lime green but also not a grass green. Something in between...

I currently have the Dell Studio 1558 in Plum Purple and really like it. I think it looks elegant. My niece has it in Midnight Blue. Although blue is my favorite color I personally find that blue too dark for my taste.

Personally I like the red--I don't think it's too bright at all. It's darker than the red Inspiron 1440 I used to have. Again...all a matter of taste..many simply like their laptops in basic, classic black...

I wish they had matte black available. Black chainlink looks kind of cheap and way too filmsy compared to obsidian black that is available /w the XPS line.

I have the spring green lid and the best thing about it is micro satin, no scratches, no fingerprints. The colour is not always green, different light gives different colour, sometimes yellowish sometimes green. Another thing I like is that you have something like two computers, the close one with the green "funny" lid and the open one with black and silver "business" interior.

Quick question about the microsatif finish, does it last? or does it peel off after a while in particular on the edges?

Assuming the production process for these is similar to the xps m1530 and m1330's then you should have no problem with peeling etc. I had a m1530 which had the microsatin finish and after 3 years it still looked great. I sold it to a friend, I see it regularly and it still looks good. It's very durable and I prefer it to regular plastic lids.

I don't know the specifics about how it's made but it seems to be more of an integrated texture rather than a coating. Meaning, it didn't have a cheap painted on appearance or feel.
