Does anyone know if Dell offer student discounts in the UK? I'm considering buying a notebook from them but they're simply too expensive. If they do offer significant student discounts, that may persuade me to take another look at their range.

If they do offer discounts, how much is it? What restrictions are there, if any?

It depends what kind of student you are. Best way to figure out if you are entitled to any discounts is to go to your school's website and search around.

Well, I'll be off to university in October. It seems to me like you're saying Dell themselves don't offer any discounts as a company?

Yeah Dell does, but some are specific to different universities and result in bigger discounts while others are general but still good. google Dell University to see what you can get. If you can't find something to your likings, look around the deals and bargains page here on the forums and there are some $300 and $500 off Dell notebooks coupons. If they have expired, don't worry, they show up nearly every week like clockwork. Dell is definitely a good way to go for the budget minded.

I know they offer hundreds of dollars worth to customers in the US, but I'm in the UK. That's why I'm asking if Dell offer anything in the UK, because I need some kind of warranty with my notebook and so I can't order internationally.

I poked around dell.co.uk and I found out you can get upto 25% off your system but I lost the page where it was written. Your best option is to simply call your university and see what they offer.
